Equipment Used

This page will give some details of the equipment that I use to capture these pictures. All the pictures on my site are taken with a Canon 1000D DSLR. The lenses that I use are:

For my night sky photography I attach the DSLR to a telescope using a T-Ring nose piece that allows me put the camera into the focuser of the telescope. My telescope set is as below:

The night sky stuff is taken using long exposures of between 60 seconds to 110 seconds and taking lots of shots so that I can stack them in a special program called Deep Sky Stacker and then edit them in Photoshop in order to remove light pollution and bring out maximum detail.

My Solar photography is done with a special filter Shown below that makes it safe to point a telescope or camera lens at the Sun in order to photograph. Under no circumstances should you point a camera or a telescope at the Sun without the use of a proper filter as permanent eye damage will be done.
